OUR WATER

Our water isn’t just a beverage; it’s a natural source of health and refreshment, born from the pristine heart of Table Mountain. Filtered through hundreds of meters of unique sandstone, it absorbs essential minerals like calcium and potassium, naturally reaching a perfect pH balance (7.2-8.4) for optimal body compatibility.

Why choose Table Mountain Water?

Born in the heart of Table Mountain, our water journeys through unique rock formations, naturally filtering away impurities. It’s so pure, you could almost drink it straight from the source. But trust, we go the extra mile for your safety. Gentle ozonation neutralizes any lingering bacteria or viruses, followed by UV treatment that transforms ozone back into oxygen and water. The result? Pristine Table Mountain water, delivered with utmost care.

  • Naturally enriched with essential minerals: Our TDS of 260+ qualifies us as a true mineral water, supporting your health and well-being.
  • Perfectly balanced pH: Optimal neutrality promotes internal harmony and aids in nutrient absorption.
  • Enhanced hydration with sodium: The ideal amount of sodium optimizes fluid retention, keeping you feeling energized and ready to tackle your day.
  • Calcium for strong bones: Naturally occurring calcium strengthens your bones and supports overall skeletal health.
  • Potassium for heart and nerve function: Our water’s natural potassium content plays a crucial role in maintaining healthy heart and nerve function.

Let Table Mountain Water be your choice for a healthier, more vibrant way of life. Experience the difference nature provides, in every sip.

OUR STORY

It all began in Cape Town’s Gardens neighbourhood. Below the Lady Hamilton Hotel.

During the 2017 Day Zero drought, an alternate water source was being sought after for the hotel. GEOSS, a groundwater consulting company, surveyed the land beneath us. Fortunately, we were situated above an aquifer we could tap into.

By 2019, we had completed the development of our water treatment plant, initially intended to supply the hotel with sustainable water. However, the COVID-19 pandemic forced the hotel to close for an extended period.

In mid-2020, water testing revealed a quality far exceeding our expectations. (We received lab results highlighting the exceptional quality of the water we had discovered.) This discovery sparked the birth of Table Mountain Water.

Three brothers joined forces in 2021 to launch the business and plan the construction of our factory and brand. As the concept solidified, we began construction and sourced the necessary machinery. The initial year involved some stumbles, including multiple logo and bottle design revisions as we honed our marketing strategy. Since none of us had experiencein the beverage industry, we had a steep learning curve.

Driven by a love for Cape Town and its community, Table Mountain Water was created, not only to supply Capetonians with the purest water but also to support the community.

HISTORY

Cape Town is synonymous with Table Mountain, and Table Mountain is synonymous with Cape Town.

In fact, Table Mountain made Cape Town what it is today… the mountain traps moisture from clouds, providing rain and feeding the streams that flow through the valleys. If it were not for the fresh water supply from Table Mountain’s Platteklip stream, it is believed that early settlers would have selected the safer harbour of Langebaan instead to establish a city.

To us Capetonians, a previous mayor said it best: “Table Mountain is a symbol of permanence in a world that is full of change. It is a symbol of the heritage that we are privileged to have. And it is a symbol that reminds us that we are privileged enough to live in an incredible country with incredible assets, giving us hope for the future.”

Officially recognised as one of the new Seven Natural Wonders of the World, and as part of a Natural World Heritage Site, the mountain offers loads of fun opportunities for locals and visitors alike. It’s part of the Cape Floristic Region, the richest floral kingdom on earth with more than 1 470 floral species, and is the only natural phenomenon on the planet to have a constellation of stars named after it. The constellation is called “Mensa”, meaning ‘table’ in Latin.
